Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy applies to Screenslice, a macOS application developed by Maksim Prokopyev.

Screenslice is designed to work locally on your Mac. The app does not require an account, does not show ads, and does not include third-party analytics, tracking, or advertising SDKs.

Information Screenslice Accesses

Screenslice requests Screen Recording permission from macOS so it can capture and mirror a user-selected region of your display into a separate shareable window for video calls.

Screenslice also stores a small amount of app preference data locally on your device, such as your freeze-frame keyboard shortcut.

Data Screenslice Does Not Collect

Screenslice does not collect, transmit, or sell personal information through the app.

How Screen Content Is Handled

Any screen content selected in Screenslice is processed locally on your Mac and used only to render the live output window that you choose to share in your conferencing software. Screen content is not sent to the developer's servers because Screenslice does not operate any backend service for this purpose.

Local Storage and Retention

Screenslice stores limited preference data on your device using Apple's local preferences system. At the time of writing, this is limited to app settings such as the freeze-frame shortcut.

Captured screen frames are handled in memory while the app is running and are not retained by the developer after use.

Sharing of Information

Screenslice does not share data collected through the app with third parties because the app does not collect that data in the first place.

Support Communications

If you contact support by email, the developer will receive the email address and message content you choose to provide. That information is used only to respond to your request and manage support conversations, and is retained only for as long as reasonably necessary to handle the correspondence.

Your Choices

Children's Privacy

Screenslice is not directed to children and does not knowingly collect personal information from children through the app.

Changes to This Policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time. If Screenslice's privacy practices change, the updated policy will be posted at this page with a revised effective date.
